The Creative Review
Review creative work without the friction.
A client-first review tool for freelance designers and small creative teams — built end-to-end using the same process we bring to client work.
The Product
The Creative Review is a focused review and approval tool for freelance designers and small creative teams. Two opinionated rules: every asset gets a clean thumbs up or thumbs down, and approvals can't carry feedback. If a client wants changes, they have to ask for them — and when they do, a click-to-pin annotator unlocks so the note lands on the pixel it's about. Free tier on top of paid plans starting at $5/month. Open source under AGPL-3.0.
Admin Tools
On the admin side, a dashboard that keeps the work moving: project status, pending reviews, overdue assets, and a Friday digest that rolls up what needs attention. Every asset has a clear, auditable status at all times.
Why We Built It
Every freelancer and small creative team we talked to had the same story. Feedback cycles that drag on for weeks. Approvals that come back as "looks great, but…" with a list of unstated changes. Clients who refuse to learn a proofing tool because it feels too corporate. We built The Creative Review for the reviewer first — so the client can go from "link in email" to "decision submitted" in under 30 seconds, no account required.
Built Using SFC's Process
Applying SFC's end-to-end process from strategy through build:
01
Product Strategy
Scope, user flows, and feature prioritization defined up front. We decided what to ship and — just as importantly — what to leave out.
02
Brand Development
Name, voice, visual identity, and the marketing surface, all produced using SFC's Brand Development Process.
03
AI-Guided Build
MVP built with Determined Agency Design — authentication, subscriptions, image uploads, and a production deploy — in days, not months.
